Syeda Hussain
is the artist and designer behind ShakeMyHeadCo, a studio based in Metro Detroit, where creativity is unlimited. She uses design, illustration, and typography to express her unique perspective on culture, identity, and society. Each project is an opportunity to explore, experiment, and create something fresh and engaging.For Syeda, design is more than just visuals— it’s about starting conversations and creating work that challenges the norm. At ShakeMyHeadCo, it’s all about embracing the unexpected and letting creativity take the lead.
Syeda holds a BA in Graphic Design with a minor in Political Science from Oakland University and is currently pursuing an MFA in Design for Sustainability at the College for Creative Studies. Alongside her academic journey, she has built a diverse background through freelance work, fine art commissions, design roles, and recognition through scholarships and contests.
Her multidisciplinary experience allows her to approach every project with a balance of concept, craft, and purpose. Syeda blends curiosity, creativity, and sustainability-driven thinking to create meaningful, impactful work—and looks forward to inspiring the next generation of designers.
